Lawn Maintenance Crew Member

You'll perform various lawn maintenance functions related to, but not limited to, mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, fall clean-ups, and spring clean-ups, and producing work within budget and in the time frame allocated for the job. Job seekers should take pride in quality workmanship and enjoy working with others.

Physical Demands and Work Requirements:

  • Must be able to operate lawn care equipment (i.e., zero-turn mower, weed whip, trimmer, blower) & familiar with light/heavy equipment (skid steer, mini excavator, compact tractor) & hand tools (blowers, chain saws, edgers, rakes, clippers, hedge trimmers).

  • Familiar with dirt work/grading & seeding

  • Must be able to get on and off mower frequently to pick up garbage and debris and move objects that are in the mowing area as needed

  • Assist foreman in daily maintenance and cleaning of mower and equipment and keeping truck and trailer cleaned out.

  • Responsible for equipment maintenance including but not limited to cleaning, fueling, greasing, checking fluid levels, inspecting, documenting, and reporting issues with equipment to Shop Mechanic.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers, in person and on the telephone.

  • Activities requiring handling and grasping with the hands when performing repairs or maintenance of equipment by utilizing hand tools, power tools, air tools, nuts, bolts, electronic controls, and other small parts as needed.

  • Majority of work to be performed outdoors in various weather conditions; requires constant physical efforts, and may be exposed to dangerous tools and equipment; safety precautions must be followed including use of safety equipment.

  • Ability to stand and walk extended periods of time and walk and work on uneven platforms.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.

  • Ability to bend, kneel and work with arms raised for prolonged periods of time.

  • Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, dampness and humidity, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes.

Qualifications:

  • Effectively operate weed whip, zero-turn mower, walk-behind mower and all other lawn care equipment

  • Has great customer service skills and can interact with client daily as needed

  • Ability to Identify and correct unsafe conditions and practices and communicate actions to Foreman

Compensation: $17-$25/hour based on experience and qualifications
